Daddy making use of his other degree in Art History
One of his favorite artists-Rodin, teaching Sofie all about art! (something he has been trying to do with me for the last 9 years!) We went to the art museum on a rainy day---

Eating Thai food--Victoria has the most restaurants per capita in Canada. We really enjoyed all the really great food. Especially me---lovin to eat these days!
Sofie met some friends at one of the restaurants!
At the Maritime Museum--Dad also likes to sail.
Leaving Victoria goin on a plane ride!!!

Victoria, B.C.

We just returned last night, late, from a little family vacation in Victoria, B.C. We were there a week and just got home late last night, soooooo Ma Ma is tired!!!!!! Our flight home was quite exciting as an elderly gentleman passed out in the aisle of the plane, Ryan --the FLASH that he is---saved the man from hitting his head, hence, avoiding a disastrous head injury, lowered him to the aisle of the floor of the plane, and he proceeded to work the rest of the flight home. Ryan assessed his heart and physical condition. We thought we were going to have to turn the plane around because he had chest pain. But the flight from Salt Lake to Durango is so short we continued to Durango. The plane actually had quite a sophisticated ACLS kit. So Dr. Ryan ordered me to give him an IV with some fluids and some aspirin, STAT!!!So, I also worked on the flight while Sofie was being entertained by strangers. (Ryan hasn't started an IV since Medical School) The gentleman ended up doing ok but, we think he could have had a cardiac event so the ambulance was waiting for him on the runway when we landed. I was really proud of my man, and the fragile emotional condition I am in these days has me crying when I think about it. The airline and the passengers were really great and helpful, especially the impromptu babysitters. And also, the gentleman's wife happened to be a patient of Ryan's from a long time ago!!! Small world!
Back to the trip---- Sofie did really well and was quite a trooper from her usual routine here at home---she adapted wonderfully. We tried to get lots of pictures and we did, but most of them are of our lovely baby. We usually have lots more of the area but we just couldn't help ourselves!!!! We did tons of walking around and visiting all the attractions, even the underworld sea boat thing that was a total tourist trap and a waste of 20 dollars!!! (We did not get sucked into the wax museum though!!) The island is absolutely gorgeous and very family oriented. The weather was great, only one day of total rain, which we just visited the B.C. Museum and saw the Titanic exhibit. We also visited some friends who are lucky enough to live there, Jamey and her husband Mike and their sweet 11 month daughter Noelle. They were the best hosts and we hope they will let us reciprocate some day and come and visit us.
